A Flicker.

Today a gentleman met me briefly. We exchanged a few sentences and business cards. Within an hour he had gleamed as much information about me to come back and ask me directly "how much?" and "a year without sex?"

I was surprised enough by his in-depth research to answer every further question without hesitation. In fact, I was so captivated by his immediate engagement with my online presence that it rekindled my own relationship with the reason behind DK.com. Again, I was fascinated that this work still has the capability to prompt an intrigue comparable to that of when it was current which I had assumed would become softened with time.

The nature of www.digital-kiss.com (DK.com), in that it was specifically formulated to be an online social experiment, meant that the reality of the artwork was akin to Jean Baudrillard’s notion of the meaning in media and in particular when the content is neutralised it is possible to “manipulate the medium in its form and to translate the real by using the impact of the medium as form.” The Internet sets ADZ as cyborg which could only happen as a result of the Internet being a)intrinsic in DK.com, b)capable of diversity/mutation and c)interface to cyberspace. The empirical nature of DK.com meant that until the artwork had placement in cyberspace nothing about it could be interacted with, measured or critiqued. Suffice to say that it only had life when it became “live.”

Baudrillard, J./Translated Glaser, S.F., (1994) Simulcara and Simulation Michigan, University of Michigan. p.82

I am at the point where I am full-to-bursting with energy for a next work, snippets of feelings that need to be joined together in some cohesive manner. I yearn to test the perimeters yet again. I wish to revisit the vastness of that hyperreal exhibition space and make an area of it mine once more.

However, in order to reinstate myself as "cyborg" I will present a very malleable aspect of the self that will distort less than one fundamentally associated with emotional foundation. I have set myself a challenge to bring about a next stage, a step onwards from DK.com. Those who know me will verify that this is how I ignite my touch-paper. What happens next will be interesting at the very least.

Reading. Researching. Testing. I will share as I see fit.
